simple question

hey in order to install a new 200 gb hdd do I first copy the c and e drive and transfer them over to the new one, or install the new one use the x3cl, format the new hdd then transfer or just totaly forget formatting and just copy the files over????

go into config live copy over the c and e drive to your pc.

put in new drive go into config live and setup and format new drive, then copy files back.

hey yo, one more thing, should i use the old xbox connector, that goes from the hdd, to cd drive, to motherboard, or use the new connector, it looks like it might work

well besides the hard drive, i got a connector, sort of like the one currently used in my stock xbox harddrive, it looks the same lenght has three ends to plug into the hdd, cd drive and mother brd, just one end is black one white and one gray, it looks like it might work, by the way the hdd is a 200gb maxtor lapo201 or something close to that if anyone else has one

Just use the old one, although the new one you got will probably work just fine! Test it out, it won't hurt anything. Depending on the type of cable it may even increase speed slightly, or so it is rumoured. ATA133 or something like that. The speed increase is debatable though. oh well
