Is there a way to skip the X2 config live settings? reason why is because I set it so that it does not boot DVD/CD at start-up, and now I screwed up my dashboard and the only way I know to get back in to fix my dashboard is using my old evo-x install cd and FTP'ing into the system. Other way I can think of is using a softmod hack (in which I lack the proper tools to do so). PLease help or give me some advise.

You could remove the hard drive and put it into another xbox and reinstall the dashboard onto it. Or maybe flash the bios with a previous X2 bios that doesn't use the X2CL settings, which will enable you to boot the evox cd. Once you done that you can flash the bios back to the latest X2 bios

what do you have on the other bank?
you could always try and make a bootdisc with the rescue.xbe instead of default.xbe (a problem like yours was taken into account when team x made the bios with that option)

Thanks for the advise, but my hard drive is locked and won't work on another system, also I never flashed the other bank of the X2 with something that would allow me to rely on as a back up. It allows me to use a 1 MB bios and thats what I did I made a 1 MB BIOS of the x2 5032. I have not tried a bootdisc with a resuce.xbe. I will try that and if that does not work then maybe I need to flash the chip with a programmer

its always good idea to have a backup of either flashbios or another stable and reliable bios on either bank
the rescue.xbe should work though as long as you burn the cd/dvd correctly
a tutorial on how to burn cd/dvds properly can be located on the front page

Thank again for your help MK. I got it to boot again. I found my old xbox HDD around here and Booted off of that, then flashed the BIOS with an older version of the X2 BIOS ,popped in my 40GB HDD again and fixed the dashboard using an evo-x install cd. This time I'll make sure to flash my chip with flashbios on the other bank as a back-up.
