just recieved my torx set and sata card, opened my 360 have everything ready to rock and now im having problems getting my drive into modeB. its a hitachi 59. i have installed the drives that came along with the card and i have even tried to update them. im using the sata port which is inside the computer. i dont know what im doing wrong. could anyone please help. once i turn the pc and 360 on at the same time slax loads and im expcting the drive to go into modeb itself nothing happens. could any help me reslove these problems. could it be my slax disc. i got it from xbox hacker via text's tut.

sorry forgot to add that its a pluscom via vt6421a. thx for the speedy response want to get this over and done 1st flash and all that.

You have the video cable plugged into the 360 right? Are you opening and closing the Hitachi when it says "spinning up disc"? And what do you mean by "im expcting the drive to go into modeb itself nothing happens"? Nothing is really going to happen in Slax to confirm, once you get to the login you have to check for Mode B by seeing if it takes 2 presses of the button to open/close the drive or by rebooting into Windows and seeing if it's detected.

Not true, you can use the 6421 with newer versions of Slax. I think it was just 2.0 that wouldn't work. I believe it's the combo of 6421 + Slax + specifically v59 Hitachi drives that causes some people problems, if so you'll have to get into ModeB another way.

which is the best version of slax for me to use
i think this would solve my problems, i downloaded another version of salx and it didnt work either

i dont get the spinning up disc error, yea i do have all the cables plugged in. a link for the version of slax which does work would be greatly appreicated

I know you can get version 2.1 on xbins irc channel/FTP server, there are links to the program that will connect you to xbins in Textbook's tutorial.

You can also use Slax2.1 via USB adaptor to put Hita. in ModeB, but since you got 6421a, that should works also, it worked for me anyhow.

Check your sata card from Hard drive device, then check the BIOS.
And what do you mean your comp. cannot boot from USB? You can't boot Slax via USB?

yes its the safest way im just having a few problems. the sooner i get it over with the better. tried it with the slax disc going to try it using a usb pen now.
