Slax Problems 0078K

I am trying to flash my friend's Hitachi 0078K but I am having problems getting to ModeB. I have tried all of the Slax discs with the same result. It seems like the Xbox isn't being recognized by the SATA card. There is no difference in the Slax boot up when the 360 is connected or not. I am using a VIA 6421A. This card worked fine with my MS28. It is not getting to "spinning up disc" or anything like that. I have tried using both ports on the card with no luck. I have also installed the latest drivers. As you can see, I've tried everything I can. If anyone can point out something I have done wrong or how to get this working that would be great.

Have you tried the Slax Live version,? neither 2.0 or 2.1 work on my machine, but the live one worked fine.

Try using that incredibly short black SATA cable that connects the drive to the motherboard in the 360. My VIA 8237 will only work with 78's if I use that.
