Hey I reformatted a HD and using slayer I can install M$ Dash, but as for evox...slayer just goes through the motions (really really fast! The files it says are being installed are just flying by)

I've got 4983 on this retail drive...
is there some incompatability with the bios?
They work finewith my large drive!

anything, boyz?

Does it work ok with the same Slayers CD too?

Also, your BIOS is linked to the chip not the drive.

Finally, remember a retail HDD normally doesn't have an F drive, so whatever option you're choosing on Slayers, make sure it's not trying to copy to F :)

Later (when I get a chance... I'm gonna stick my evox in the f: and try to boot from AVA... see if this EVOX even works... thanksfor the help boys... I'll let ya know this evening how it goes!

You are aware that with 4983 you cannot edit the boot locations of your dashboards?

All dashboards must be on the C drive or they won't be seen. If you want a more versatile BIOS then get 4981 and edit it with XBTool.

BTW, never mess with the Xboxdash files!!

;) Pardon my phraseology...:)

Gotcha,
What I meant was "When I got in[,](comma) the xboxdash.xbe [file] was in c:\..." and then I meant "stick my evox in f:\apps and [launch] (not boot) from AVA..."

Where do I learn about the 4983 characteristics\features (other than readme, they tend to add an edit and remove...), such as (I believe): 4983 can recognize avalaunch.xbe and launch as such from a C: boot, and it also has boot sequence priority (recognition)...
Is there a list of such things?

BTW - Thanks a bunch for the help!
