Hi,
i dont know if this is the right forum, but i couldnt find another one.
My problem:
I installed my x3 chip with the x3 1959 bios in my xbox.
But i dont know why the cdrw isnt booting. :(
Please HELP!!!!!!!!

did you rename evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe?

If you can get any of your cdrw's to boot, just use ftp to install your dashboard.

Hmm...
i have burned my x3 1959 bios on a 5 year old cdrw. it worked.
but the other brand new cdrw with slayers doesnt boot on my smasung dvd rom.
But in which mode can it be installed???
Flashbios, 1959, ??????????????

Try Memorex 1x-4x media, It worked for me in my crappy thompson drive :D

I try to burn Slayers on the working cdrw with the 1959 bios.
hope that works.

I don't see why anyone would want to waste media burning coasters when you can just do everything over FTP.

Acually, not a single piece of CD media has entered my xbox except the copy of Simpsons Hit and Run I used to test the box after I bought it from ebay and the copy of Project Gotham Racing 2 that i just "backed up" to the hard drive.

Hell, I even installed linux over FTP.

Maybe my girlfriend's knack for conservation is rubbing off on me because i don't see the point in burning exra useless coasters when you can just do it all over ftp.

I't nice to be able to do this over FTP,, but for a first timer, making the install with a autoinstaller makes sence.
I did this, and am happy to recommend it to others.
Personally I find it easyer to tweek a working system than to do it all for your self the first time.
And you don't waste media when using a CD-RW... :)
It all come down to your own preference... Me, I really cannot see the point (use) in installing Linux on the xbox, but then others do...

it doestn't matter if you have your hd locked or unlocked. just throw in the cdrw or dvd-r, and then you are up and running.

good luck!

P.S.
if you are using the latest bios, then make sure that you switch a setting in your bios. i think that it is under hd drive options (i cann't remember exactly), this option specifies whether to use a F drive that holds ALL of your hd drive space or to use a F and G drive.

I hope that makes sensse.
