Re: Flashing Lite-on Problem...?

the flash as gone ok because you say that the games worked then stopped working
this means the fw is flashed correctly
either its coincidence and your laser is failing or your using cheap media.
have you flashed the drive with lt plus 1.1

Re: Flashing Lite-on Problem...?

midiandy said cheap media, not cheat media. There is an article about it here. But basically, you can't really tell if a media is cheap (i.e. low quality DVD+R DL media) unless it is specified on the DVD package who actually manufactured it. Not all companies manufacture top quality DVDs. But generally, Verbatim DVD+R DL media is very good, whereas names like RiData are not as good. Also, burning at the absolute lowest speed (2.4x) doesn't mean best playback / performance. You should burn your games at the recommended burn speed for you specific DVD+R DL media or about two steps lower. For example, I have MBI DVD+R DL discs rated at 8x; I burn my games to them at 6x speed. The type of DVD burner you have can also have an effect.

Burned discs will always be harder for your drive to read than original, stamped discs (which have physical grooves, much easier for the laser to read). This is why some people will have issues with their drives not recognizing their game backups or their lasers dying so quickly (which is what seems to be happening to you).

You should adjust the pot. on your laser or replace the laser with a new one.

Re: Flashing Lite-on Problem...?

I agree except for one thing. I have used Ridata ink jet printable discs since the original XBOX days and they have always worked great...with every XBOX360 DVD versions too. I ALWAYS burn at the slowest speeds with Imageburn.

I get mine at the shop4tech website.
