ANSWERED Slim 14699 Kinect

Hey guys, i just got a kinect for my 14699 rgh slim..
When i open the slim with the kinect connected it asks for an update.. is it safe to apply the update?

(I already did the 14699 $$ystemupdate before i got the kinect)

I would say yes, as you're already on the 14699 dash. I updated my Kinect before I RGH'd and all is fine.

should be safe. Official update (if you are already on 14699) can be applied to fix avatars so in that case should be same safe..

To use this device, an update must be applied. If you accent this update and are playing a game, you'll lose any unsaved progress, If you decline the update, you won't be ablue to use the device.

ok - as said by others, provided your dashboard is on 14699 then yes it's fine.

It might actually be updating the kinect.

I had a feeling it was just an update for the Kinect but couldn't remember exactly what mine said so didn't wanna give gash information. Glad it's sorted though

Can you apply the update online or download to USB and apply?

I have the same issue with a RGH Slim and Kinect (Dash 14699).

Seeing as you should never connect to Xbox Live with an RGH console, the smart move is to download to USB
