Hi All,

I purchased a replacement TX PCB for my 9504/0272 Drive, flashed back to stock on the original PCB before updating to the latest dash on the console. I then flashed the new replacement TX PCB and all went fine, no errors from anywhere etc

I put the drive back together and went to play a game and the console says "Open Tray" you open the tray but it ejects SUPER fast. Then wont close all the way when you press close it just goes in about half an inch and sticks...

I did have a search through the forums and found only one other person that had a similar issue and they just reverted to their original PCB and a Sputnik 360 mod. However having paid £50gbp for the replacement PCB from TX i'd rather like to get this working.

Just to add... the flash seems fine. If i manually push the tray closed, it will boot original and backup games inc XGD3 backups fine. It just shoots them out so fast it looks like the disc tray itself is going to eject haha and then wont close on its own.

Any idea's ?

Many thanks in advance

Usual stuff to start u off - double check the wire connections - also look VERY closely at the soldered end of the wires - sometimes there has been the tiniest thread of conductive material bridging the connections.

The wires into the connector block look a little pinched but now I'm clutching at straws lol.
also - if u have like a jewelers 10x magnifier, check the IC pins make sure there are no bridges during manufacturing etc

Its the Red wire, make sure its connected properly. Also, in the no solder addon, make sure that u didnt tighten the screws on the rubber, but on the wire :)

Thanks again.. Red wire sounds promising. When the replacement PCB arrived the red wire was disconnected at the PCB end/Solder end. I have resoldered it though and it looks like a pretty good connection (See below)

I have re-done the none-solder block ensuring that the wire is touching and no sleeving (it was ok) - Guess its time to re-solder at the PCB end and give that a shot !

Well... I have just unsoldered, re-trimmed a fresh piece of exposed wire to solder on, soldered it back on, looks a pretty good / solid connection - but the same thing :( gutted!

And more idea's anyone before i have to get in touch with the supplier to arrange a return ?

Appreciate the speedy replies guys! So thanks in advance.

Yeah will give that a go... will have to make some extensions though as i cut the orig wires shorter to try and do a neater job lol - i have just tried taking the red wire from PCB to Block out of the equasion (see below) brand new cable direct from block to solder point - but no joy still the same! will try direct solder on all wires next...
