LITEON 93450 Slim and x360key

Hi

Am I right in thinking that I just need to read and save the key (dummy bin) to then use with the 360key? I'm thinking of buying a used slim and anticipate being able to read the key using my usbpro and CK3i to power up the drive (I won't need any soldering/drilling/Sputniks/Apollo/Gemini etc as not flashing the drive just getting key).

It's just that I've seen a vid using another gizmo to read rather than the usbpro.

Finally is there any evidence to demonstrate that the 360 key reduces RROD?

First I've heard of that, quite why a DVD drive emulator would prevent overheating/cold solder joints in the solder balls of the GPU is a mystery to me.

Then again I did have someone insist that they had red that having a coolrunner installed over-rides all RROD errors so you can bring them back to life by installing one :crazy::crazy:

Some real big imaginations out there :rolleyes2:

Thanks but going back to my post:

Can I just read the slim key with usbpro and put the dummy bin file on the x360key micro SD card.

(no flash just read with drive locked)

Just read the jungleflasher pdf and that will tell you the exact steps to dump the key depending on your drive (you still haven't bothered telling us your drive yet). After that you won't get much help in a TX forum for the 360 thing as most of us couldn't possibly care less about it and are here to offer support on TX products and issues.

Drive is Lite on DG 162DS which was a 7451 I think but now has LT 2.0.

X key is for noobs and those who enjoy burning $100+ on a device that cost $10< to make can go ahead, at the end RGH FTW!

Download the jungleflasher pdf and follow the steps in it. You will need a probe I think. No point in retyping the steps as the jungleflasher PDF has everything nicely laid out and is easier to follow than a description in a forum.

Well its a waste of time and designed for super beginners who have too much money to burn on something that you can do much more for with a lot less cash (i.e. RGH)
