Hello everyone,

I'm having a tough time getting the slims to boot at 5-10" and I was wondering if you would like to share some pics or tips regarding the D (CPU_RST) wire.
I've done a few so far but I never managed to get constant boots with the wire under the board as described on the TX installation pictures.
I've also tried coax cables (RG174/RG178/LMR100A) grounded on the CR end but still no joy.

Thanks ;)

I have had a lot of luck just coiling it and and setting it to the left of post out... I have done about 15 and they rarely go over 30 seconds boot time and at least 5 have been instant glitching 30% of the time, and consistently glitching with in 2-4 glitches. I have another coming in today I'll take pics of my install for you.

I coil it too but usually place it near the sata ports or under the hdd power cable, it seems to like these two spots a bit better than the rest. Haven't tried near post_out like you say though but I will. Cheers

p.s.

How many cm do you have your wire ? do you go with the stock wire ?

try 75cm, mine is 75cm and i have boots within 1-2 glitches, around 10 seconds maximum, heres my youtube vid [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srSRNeda-B8"]Xbox 360 Slim coolrunner LED mod - YouTube[/ame]

i also bring my wire up into the top of the board and leave it coiled up under the dvd tray

hope this helps

I might get a solid 5-10" with the board bare layed out but when i put everything back together ti goes to 20-30" :/
I've even noticed that having the dvd drive in place (but not connected) slows boot times, and if I lift it a little from the front the board boots faster....weird sh*t im tellin u..

It's because the components on the PCB of the dvd drive are laying directly over top of the coolrunner and causing interference with it. Not to mention the metal casing of the DVD drive too. There is obviously something in the SLIM DVD drives that there isnt in the PHAT DVD drives.

i actually coil the cable and leave a small coil on top of mobo, near where the power for the dvd drive runs, and i never get boots more than 20 seconds

mainly instants or 10 seconds

I tried the stock placement and it took 2-5mins. Tried routing around the clamps around 2-5 mins.

Measured the blue wire that came with the CR and it was about 55cm. Cut it down to 50 and glitch times improved. Right now I'm at about 45 cm and it glitched within 30 secs. I think it's more about the length than placement but every console is different.
