RGH Slim - Can't read retail nor backups discs

I completed the RGH, and waited for the new LT 3 to be released so that I could once again read my backups. Since RGH install, my drive has not been able to read retail discs, but discs with data or DVD movies only. I'm uncertain as to what the problem could be, but there is no visible damage to the mobo. CoolRunner does everything as it should properly, but my drive cannot read games only DVD and data discs.

I did damage the power cable though, and melted the holes shut with the iron when i was soldering, but i managed to smooth it out and poke the holes. Does anybody think that maybe that may be the cause as to why the drive is not reading games? The SATA cable is for data, but if the power wire was damaged the drive wouldn't function at all.

Any thoughts?

first of all i would make sure you haven't bridged or damaged any surrounding components. then i would also check the cables are connected correctly. lastly i would change the sata cable as these can be easy to damage. hope this help

I started the thread, but i didn't provide any follow up to my original post. Well, it turns out that once i removed the HDD and booted the box without it, it finally began to read my originals and my backups.
