Slim drive problem

I just installed a Kamikaze hacked PCB and it plays games fine no problem but the tray won't eject, it just hums when I click eject.

I have to put games in manually for them to start.

Could it be soldering problem? or just generally broken motor?

Thanks.

Try a different PCB or the original one if that is still avilable in the drive. If it works fine then means the kamikazie hack went in too dip, but since the PCB still plays games (meaning the disc still spins) you could try the pout fix.

You could try and return it to the seller. Alternaitvely if you want to try the pout fix check the like in my first reply to you.

The original PCB ejects, I bought this Kamikaze PCB from eBay bloody useless people :(

how do I do this pout fix? and is it permanent?

If you mean you already paid someone to flash it and they mucked it up then it should be their responsbility to fix it and their own cost. I don't know where you been looking for services and sellers but surely you have been approaching the wrong people.

Can't I've already forked out £60 on this guys xbox since I paid someone to Kamikaze hack the original PCB which wouldn't flash, so now I'm stuck with 2 broken PCBs. I really can't afford to pay for a new one.

The guy who originally done it is trusted, he's done them before for me.

What a disaster :( This slim needed to be done today, looks like I'm gonna have to come up with another excuse :p

Thanks for the help, I'll probably return it to the seller and get another.

that £60 could of just been spent on a proper TX unlocked pcb:facepalm:

Your smart arse comment is not needed, I originally just paid for the Kamikaze hack to be done (£25) then that didn't work so I only had one option and that was to fork out another £35 for a new board, I went with a board from eBay because it would be delivered quicker.

This xbox is a friends bosses so he doesn't want to get on the wrong side of him and it was supposed to be done last Thursday.

Major disaster, I'm going to pay for an already unlocked MXIC, send the PCB back and get refunded, this way I don't lose any more money. I'm going to have to go with the Pout fix as he needs this xbox Monday the latest.

Cheers again for the help.

Sounds like a cowboy to me, anyone worth their salt would have fully tested that pcb before sending it off. As manwithnoname said, if they shafted it up they should take care of it at their own cost, I keep backup PCB's on standby for that very reason, though mine never get used as I do the job properly.

I'd find another person to perform your services for you, there's a list of people in the modding services section that won't stitch you up.

it was all down to the small amount of time I had to do it, if I weren't stuck for time I'd have just went for an unlocked PCB in the first place but no-where offered delivery for the day I needed it.

In future I'm going with unlocked PCBs from T-X straight away, no messing around.

You offered me a board yes, but can it get here for Monday? No. So my only option is the pout fix.

I'm going to attempt the pout fix, what wire do I need? I search 30AWG Wire in Maplin and get no results? Does it have a specific name? E.g. wrapping wire or something?

Any thin wire will do the trick, including bell wire which you can get from malpins. If done properly, you should have a fully functional drive in now time. Let us know how the fix goes and if all is ok.
