Is it possible to replace a 0225 drive with a 0401?

If yes, please tell me how, because I've made it myself, but something is wrong. When i turn on the xbox, everything is fine, opens, closes, reads disc. But after playing for 20-30 minutes, game quits with dirty disc message. After that eject won't work, tries to read disc but no luck. After turning the xbox off and on again, it works, opens, closes, reads, everything.

Yes, but I think what you need is a lens replacement. It is easy to reprogram an unlocked 0401 to a 0225, but try getting a replacement lens and attaching that to your drive as it would be much cheaper and easier than any other methods. Good luck

Thanks, i've already made the replacement, but i thougt that this fault could be compatibility issue. I don't think it's a lense issue, because after disc read error, i'm unable to eject the drive. After power cycle it's ejecting again. Powered from ck3it always ejects, closes.
