slim drives

is there a way of identifying wat kind of drive is in the slims,the phat xboxs u cud just take off the faceplate to know what ur working with.just wondered if u cud do the same with the slims without opening the case....cheers

Nope, unfortunately. The best thing to try is looking at the dvd drive tray. Hitachi has a particular look and so does liteon.
