ok after a few hours of game play (cod mw3)
my rgh slim froze i turned it off & rebooted it & it froze up asap
now im hoping it just did that to prevent over heating & if that is the case how would i prevent this from happening again like 12volt fan mod & what ever

liquid cool im going to look into that
did that my fsd fan is set to 90% now it was on 100%
now if i just remove the dvd drive would that help on cooling
im also going to look into a intake fan
also whats the recommended time to play like when i had a jtag it was 4 hours never longer then that

i cant believe a 2011 model over heats like this i thought M$ fixed this type of [email protected]@t

it's M$... do they really EVER fix anything? lol!

removing the DVD drive will allow you to put an intake fan in to draw cool air. I would get a digital thermometer with a lead and put it on the heatsink to see what the temps are like when it locks up. if temps aren't high in the heatsink the CGPU may not have a good seal between it and the sink with the thermal compound - or there's another issue somewhere.

ok it booted up & i was able to move around within fsd

i would think so lol but i guess not guess them saying they dealt with the over heating issues was a lie huh lol & lowing the warranty to only a year because they was so cocky about it working was all BS faulty system
I would get a digital thermometer with a lead and put it on the heatsink to see what the temps are like when it locks up
i will try that maybe i would have to order one

i can tell that the system is kind of hot from the heat coming from the stock fan
im hoping at max it just needs more air

if temps aren't high in the heatsink the CGPU may not have a good seal between it and the sink with the thermal compound
you mean the thermal compound between the gpu & heatsink right?

here are the intake fans in my jasper jtag (attachment)

I pulled the DVD drive and used the DVD power to run the fans. I used 2 server fans pushing 11cfm each into the box. this creates a positive pressure system. you can do the same thing with your 120mm, just uses a bigger hole.

@caine1989 i think mine might be different hopefully
i ran cod mw3 for 30 minutes & got to that same spot & it froze up this time i rebooted & it worked with no freezing if the cgpu needed a re flow i don't think the 360 would have rebooted & worked after with out refreezing
i think its
a) its a corrupt profile - which i just created a new one to test that out
b) the nand needs to be a rebuilt are flashed more properly maybe
& i also need more thermal compound between the cgpu & heat sink also better air flow to prevent any over heating issues that may happen if i don't attempt to prevent

@QcMarque
thanks i will do that
so install the fan up side down right

The guy who is telling about the reflow is right on the money. The first run xboxs (xenons) were dying left and right needing anything from a reflow to a reball because of over heating. If your xbox is over heating the is a big chance that the lead free solder used to mount the chip in the xbox is still crap, and either needs a reflow or a reball. The guys here really know their stuff don't doubt the pros.

when i got the slim it didn't work so i was going to ship it back to playingmax
but i remember him saying it worked & after reading some info on it being the wires mostly
i opened it up & it worked
i tried it again after i put it back together & it didn't work
so i re opened it and kept testing it as i put it back together finally i got to the top part with the metal on it well when i tested it that way it didn't work so i removed it & it worked again so i removed the metal case & and it worked for like 2 days & then this
i think maybe the slim needs that to get better air to flow

ok i dont think its from over heating
i think its due maybe to the way i got it set up
i just re opened it again & the fan was blowing great i had just the metal case surrounding the mobo, fan & heat sinks no black case it ran good wasn't hot

now the intake fan im thinking of setting it up on the side that way i dont got to cut the case & have it blowing in

ok i put the metal back on top after i pulled up some of the back end & the glitched worked
also the fan was blowing better imo with the metal plate (i guess you would call it that) firmly pressed against the fan now would it harm my by xbox 360 slim to not put the black top part of the case back on & just leave it off

by the way this is a semi over heating issue

lol i got all but the top black caseing on it & instead of that i got the metal plate there firmly against the fan & there is a lot of air flow now i can feel hellas
if i have any issues ill cut into the plate & remove the dvd drive & put my 120mm fan blowing in then the slim stock fan blowing out fingers crossed that it remains running good
