Same Install as the Original IMM. But all you have to do is solder the points to the end of a USB Hard drive. It will show up as your internal Mem.

Just thought that it should be made available. I have a 1TB installed now.

yeah ill have it up in about 2 hours i need to get a hot glue gun for the first time ever... then when I get back ill do that. It is not modiffied though. All you have to do is take the hDD out of its case and do the same with the usb hdd.

Thanks. How hard is it to set up the hdds such that the retail one is always powered (as normal), but the non-retail one is powered only when the DemoN NAND is enabled (connected to the internal memory)

I've never been one for hardware, I'm just planning a Dual NAND solution for my Halo 4 console when it arrives. So I'm planning out whether to just install an SD Card for internal RGH memory (F3, Dashlaunch, Simple NAND Flasher etc) or whether to try for a full-on USB HDD internal install for game backups as well. Once I've got the plan, I'll send it off to a pro for the actual installation; I wouldn't trust myself with a soldering iron anywhere near a functional console

Well anyone that can put the Chips in can do this. i used a 6 prong push switch and the pin out is in my signature.

The switch I'm using is not the most ideal.. But on one row it has the 5V from the IMM in the center post and on either outer post it completes the connection. On the DemoN it has a tac button that has SW labeled on it, thoughts two points are what switches it. and can go either way on the posts as long as one is in the center.

This is the button not pushed in.

NOTE: that with this install when installed properly, it will start with the demon blue LED blinking and will not boot until you push the button. You may have to push the button more than once to get to the choice that you want but the button will have to be in the pushed in position to start the hard drive. Hope this helps.

they are both 5400 drives and are not that hot. And only one will run all the time while on live and both once on rgh.

I hadn't considered overheating, but I suppose that could be a serious problem with the two stacked like that in the drive bay. With the Xbox 360 put back together and the drives both stacked in the bay as you've shown, is it possible to pull either/both of them out of the access port? Or are they stuck in there unless you open the 360 back up? Also, I'm a little unclear about your Dual NAND swap setup. Does the second HDD come on automatically when you press the button for the DemoN NAND, or do you have to press the DemoN NAND and then your second installed switch as well?

I have not had any issue with overheating, as for the auto switch feature its not auto but since the DemoN has a tac switch it just needs a signal, where the HDD needs constant power.

So for me to turn it on i have to have my push button int the Pushed in position and make sure the blue led is on(once its plugged in all I have to do is push the button in once) I probably could use a relay but since I wanted to have it as a button this is the way I chose.

If you look at the demon around the TAC switch there is SW in between thoughts two points are where i soldered to.

So while the button is pushed in the internal MEM(HDD2) will be turned on.

with the button not pushed in the hdd will be off.

to turn off the demon nand i have to push the button two times (from the non pushed in position) to get to the internal nand with the IMM/HDD turned off.

from the same starting position all i would have to do is push the button in and start the xbox and I would be booting the hacked nand and FSD.(in my case i have to wait until they hack my CB as it is not at the current moment.)

To take them out the console does need to be taken apart.. but you could easily put a rail system in place there so you would not need to take it apart.

Hope this helps.
