Hi, I just flashed my slim to LT+3.0 and I tried loading a backup (MW3) it showed up in the dash as (Play MW3) as usual, then about 15 mins later when I started the console back up It said ''play MW3'' but I went to Zune and came back to the main dash a couple mins later, I noticed the backup just says (Play Game) and no pic shows up and the drive slows down, so when I click play game it says after a couple of seconds disc unreadable, so I tried a orginial and it worked and played fine. The backups worked fine on my Jasper flashed with LT+3.0, any idea's? Thanks!

If your not using verb mkm003 then some drives just don't like certain media. I have seen several hl drives that will not work with tdk media at all. Also there is allot of difference in laser adjustments. And or your jasper if it has a benq then it will play almost anything even if the burn is really bad.

I have a feeling the laser is the issue in the slim, weird though I'm using mkm001 Verbatim's. I've got a friend who's got the same box and same drive and his backups are working fine, oh well flashed back to stock and playing orginials for now. :)

just reflashed back to lt+3.0 to see if anything changed, and noticed all other backups except XGD3 and XGD2 Ap.25 work, so I pretty sure this has to do with either the laser or the stealth patches.

doubt it would be the patches, because everyone else would have the same problem !
could be the laser as xgd3 backups put a lot more stress on the laser, especially if the burn isn't the best
did you run the backups through Kprobe ...how were the results

Have you tried your backups on your friends other box? This will identify if it is your drive or the backup itself

can't try other box right now, maybe later in the week, but even though I think its the laser why do orginials work but backups don't and there both xgd3, and xgd2 ap 2.5 backups (black ops) give me the same prob as xgd3's but orginial is fine, very weird.

originals are original, so are better quality to begin with...all back ups put more stress on the laser, xgd3 even more so

Double check your firmware and where you downloaded it, make sure you get it directly from I-Xtreme. I had this issue on a Slim when LT+ 3.0 first came out for Slims and it turns out that someone took LT+ 2.0 and labeled it LT+ 3.0 and threw it on some site Google picked up. This could explain why XGD2 is working and XGD3 is not.

Additionally, don't forget your topology data for XGD3 backups.

good reason why to get it from a trusted source

wouldn't hurt to do this though, to rule it out, and maybe not have to worry about replacing the laser
