yup thats it mine is a G2R2, also still kinda suprised this laser would go as my phat lite-on my jasper that was made about 6 months before my slim, still works, and my 2 hitachi 59's just went but there were like 5 years old.
Believe it or not, Right before I was going to buy a new laser, I was looking at the pcb and noticed the wires from the drive to the board were connected, weren't loose, but were not entirely on the points. So i desoldered them and re-soldered them correctly, and gave the laser a little cleaning with a q-tip. And to my surprise it was working and installing mw3 to the hdd, however here comes the disc unreadable error, it reads the game fine on the disc but when installed to the hdd its unreadable, very odd. So I bought a new laser low price, and finally going to fix my Slim. Thanks Everyone!
