It's console specific. I've done about 30 installs on slims now with the same positioning of wires and same length cables and results will vary every time.
i used some of my own cable last night for the blue it was only very slightly thicker barely noticeable and was getting 5 secs to 30 secs normally 15. wish id left it alone tbh. im getting worse and worse and much more inconsistant ranging anything from 5 to 50 secs

Well ive tried a few things to improve boot times, now stand at 5 to 15 sec boot times. I seperated 3.3v cable from yellow and blue wire. Also run the blue cable around the underside board, without looping straight to the CPU rest. Hope this helps

doesnt seem to matter what i do the outcome is always the same.
as soon as i put it on after any adjustment it boots fast normally 5 secs for the first 2 or 3 times then it becomes 15 seconds, 30 seconds etc until it get way over a minute. seems when i put it on fresh after a change it boots quick but the longer its plugged in or the more boots after a change the longer it takes to boot. starting to wonder is something else wrong, maybe the stby_clk point i had to repair. i dont know anymore:confused:

Had the same thing. Just keep repositioning CPU_RST and make sure it's nowhere near any wires on the top. I soldered CPU_RST and POST_OUT to exit backwards into the coolrunner, then through the hole so there's no interference from other wires. Don't know if this is smart, but worked for me.

after much messing about i got that slim to boot in between 5-30 secs usually ten consistantly.

so i decided to do my own slim and did it the exact same way. thought happy days when xell booted straight up only to find after flashing freeboot i was getting times of between 15 secs and one minute with a 2minute boot one time.

oh well back to the drawing board:D

you would think some genius would have figured this out by now

Basically running the Blue wire around and not tool close to itsself gives me a 1 to 3 boot attempt start up... ie Coolrunner flashes 3 times.
