Ok guys so i bought a RGH for myself its a Slim so i wire everything up just fine everything going so well as usual solder everything even the Coolrunner chip all points soldered correctly.

I read the nand get a good read just one bad block, then just after i read my first nand i jog my table just a tad and my ground wire came loose without me noticing.

I then began to smell solder and im iron is not even on it was a strong burning smell i look to my board and i see little bits of smoke coming from it. At first i disconnected all my things such as nand x tried to turn on and it was fine green light.

However it would read so i powercycle and now im stuck with red dot i tried shorting the nand and that also showed no luck im basically screwed at the moment!

-Thanks.

No more advice and i think the smoke may have been caused by the new flux im using... along with the ground point coming off, so there is no general area i can phtograph.

Also if i remember back a bit smoke was near DVD drive area i think but it was honestly just a general spread around the back left of the mobo area all the way up to the SB.

Yea just i made sure it wasnt a bridge by cleaning it anyway i will check some of the resistors in the morning but i seriously doubt its one of them as it dosent look damaged or burnt at all.

But after reading up i hear some people have had the same issue and changed the resistor as a fix so i may have to switch it out if i dont get a 33 Ohm reading from it. I have done in the past to phat consoles but i dont know symptoms of missing the resistor blown on a Slim if anyone could inform me on this please do. :rolleyes2:
