i have a slim running latest fsd. fans set to auto. they never change speed while playing. played mw3 for 2 hours just now, exited to fsd
cpu- 165F
gpu- 155f
mem-150F
case-115F

nothing is in the red. ihas anyone actually had the fans kick up in fsd? i play in a very well ventilated area and the system is nearly brand new. bought it on black friday, it was the only one manufactured before august, i got lucky lol.
anyway i dont want to damage my system and i figured these numbers really arent that high. just want some other users input.
thanks guys

yup 65% is the solution, can be a little loud but makes a lot of difference in temp.
If you are brave try 100% :D, your own jet plane

73C (165F) isn't a problem after 120mins (temps will stabilise after 30mins of constant load) of playing a 'flagship' game.

A Trinity thermal profile in the SMC (at least mine on stock 13604) is set for :-

Target MAX Temp:
CPU 82C
GPU 78C
EDRAM 76C

Overheat Temp:
CPU 89C
GPU 82C
EDRAM 82C

In short , you guys are fussing over nothing.

I leave all my RGH consoles at 80% a little loud but I use them as cable boxes with WME and 2 Ceton Quad tuner cards (8 total tuners) and they can be on for hours and hours. Better safe than sorry I guess

I have to agree here, the slim was designed much better thermally speaking. I keep mine well ventilated and it runs for hours gaming and never comes close to the threshold temps and I run the fans on auto.

I cut the blue wire going to my fan and now it runs at 100% all the time. My temps are always around 115 F even after playing for awhile. The air exiting the side vent is always cool. :D

the slim is designed way better so i felt comfortable witht he temps, just wanted confirmation.

there's no point of posting Temps without posting the Room Temp..it makes alot of difference when playing in the 90+s Summer heat vs 60s in Winter time

why don't you just change the target temps to about 65 celsius and let the console do the work adjusting fan speed?
