Slim will not update new dash update

Hi its been awile since i turned on my Xbox slim And there is a new Dash update.. i go and try to update it downloads and then i get an error. with an error code saying unable to Update Dash..

Its always advised to do this, although I didn't with my Live safe slim. With the last two updates, and it had no effect on my firmware.

It could be as simple as a bad download from MS. Try downloading the USB version and trying that.

Im aware of the dos and donts, however you dont know what dash the xbox was on. There has been a few cases where people have tired to update with the drive flashed and its failed, flashing to stock has solved the issue, not saying it will solve to OPs issue but it might.

Might sound stupid but make sure you have a hhd connected... Happened to me once (late night flash) and took me a while to figure it out :facepalm:.

where would i find the usb Version?

Just google microsoft xbox dash update usb and you'll see the official xbox site. Go there! It's available as usb or cd

Thanks sorry for the noob question just never in 5 years of having a xbox.. that i ran into this issue..
