RGH Slim won't glitch with case on

ok, so i did a few boxes before and never ran into this. it's a slim, it glitches fine when it's just the board, but when i put it in the case and put everything back together the CR doesn't even blink green, just the fan makes a clicking noise, about 3 clicks / sec. i checked all the points, reseated the whole instal about 5 times, everything is taped, nothing touches anything, it's just crazy.
if i switch to phat, the CR acts normal and blinks but the box doesn't glitch. i tried reflashing the CR but no luck. if i take everything apart and use just the board, it glitches with no problem and the fan doesn't click.
also, with case on, sometimes when i power off, the fan goes to 100% for a few seconds.
any ideeas?
the only thing i did different on this box was i tried to use the alternate FT3N2 for STBY_CLK but then switched to the original point because i taught that might be causing the problem.
only thing left that i can think of is to try a different CR board but i don't have one handy right now..

You tried to re-adjust the blue wire position and length? Also using any insulation between the blue wire and the board?

When dealing with Slim I install on stages, once it glitches I re-test with the metal case with dvd and if possible HDD attached. Find a special insulation tape that insulates interference and you will notice a difference.

i tried different positions and lenghts for cpu_rst wire as i suspected it might be the problem but no combination resulted in glitch with case on. what kind of tape insulates interference? can i make something at home for this purpose? i was thinking aluminum wrap sandwitched between 2 layers of tape on either side. only insulation i'm using now is normal electrical tape.
what would the interference be comming from? i even tried making the winding of the wire on the top side of the board but no change.

Electrical tape is good, but a specific electrical interference tape will produce far better results. I happen to have one that I picked few months back and had no use for it but found it to produce near prefect results with Slims.

Just Google for heavy insulation or specific insulation tapes. Ebay might be worth checking too.

i'll try to get some tomorrow. how do you use it? along the lenght of the wire or do you just tape the wire to the board? or do you sandwich the wire spool between tape? :D wouldn't using a better insulated piece of wire do the trick?

i'll try the serpentining too but i don't really see how it would pick up less interference.. maybe if the interference is from the wire itself but then it would have nothing to do with the case..

ok, problem solved. after A LOT of trial and error i've reached a solution an a conclusion.
it was, as everyone suggested interference on CPU_RST. After i wasn't able to get hardcore insulating tape i decided to give serpentining a go and it worked well. i've had to adjust wire lenght again and took a couple of tries finding the best serpentine layout but now i'm getting constant under 10 sec boots (Yaay! )
so now, in case anyone else has this problem, here's some pictures of my serpentine layout

this was taken during the install so you can see the serpentine.

this is how it looks finished. i used more tape than i would have liked but i just wanna make sure it doesn't cause any problems again. i know it's not pretty, but hey, it works :rolleyes2:

many thanks to everyone who pointed me in the right direction!
