ok i have a kamikaze unlocked 9504/0272 drive here that was working fine but has developed an unrelated fault so i need to replace it. i ordered another drive which came labelled as an 0225 but jf shows it as 9504.
i wanted to test the drive so i decided to try reading the key but got slimkey failed so i assumed that the seller had wiped the key etc.
anyway i plugged in my faulty 0272 to get the key for flashing to the new drive however to my surprise when i try i now get slimkey failed on that one too. even if i try spi unlocking it i can unlock it fine but when i try to read the drive when it gets to the reading drive key part i get authorisation failed.
this is the funny part because when i received this drive originally i read the key off it no problem i just cant remember where i put it as i was waitinng a while for the new one which was why i decided to just read it off the drive again but no matter what i try it gives the same messages. ive done loads of these including this one before and never encountered this.
my set up is usb pro, ck3 with probe 3 cable connecting the drive and a pc power supply powering it thru molex via the ck3.
i have tried disconnecting everything and reconnecting them after a restart and ive even tried uninstalling all my usb ports and reinstalling the drivers as sometimes i was getting a "this device can perform faster" message when i plugged in the usb pro. all to no avail.
anybody any ideas? heres my jf log (bear in mind ive been using this setup every day for a long time with no issues and that i was able to read the key from this drive last week with no issues
