Hi guys,

I've blocked all of xbox live on my router (i.e, via their DNS and IP range) today and decided to join my xbox360 Slim to the wireless network so I could stream stuff from my Windows Media Centre - only then did I come across the error:

"To use a wireless Internet connection, connect an Xbox360 Wireless Networking Adapter to your console"

First thought was that the wifi card/board might be loose, hence I took the box apart and tried re-aligning the card - but that don't work.

Next thought was that it might have been old dashboard (well, google says so) - hence i quickly updated via usb to the latest version - rebooted - still can't detect anything for nuts!

Anyone got any advice? or experienced something similar before?

Regards,

unblock everything don't know why you did that ? you don't need to block anything to use Windows Media Center sounds like you have blocked everything to me then try your wireless again if your still getting an error then ya there is something up with the card..
Ah, no, i blocked xboxlive's IP range only - just to prevent it from going online just in case :)

I can't even detect any wireless networks at all - thats the really strange part!

Heemm odd unless the card got damaged when you opened it..
This was a pre-modded Halo Reach silver set. Wanted to connect the wifi card to a computer to test it - but apparently the connectors aren't normal USB connectors - it's slightly bigger by a bit such that it can't fit in normal usb ports!

Hmmmm, there could possible be something wrong with the connection of the port to the 360 where the wireless card is supposed to go. Has your wireless worked before? If not you might have been given a faulty 360. If there is something wrong with the ports you might have to find someone to repair it.

I'm having the same problem, i'm going to use a house wiring adapter that has worked in the passed on a standard xbox 360. xbox will make virtually any repair for 100$. I would recommend not going to console doctor, reviews are bad and I was just scammed on a trade in that didn't work on receiving it back.
