Slow and corrupt dashboard

I've done many RGH installs, but this time I'm having a problem. The console is a Zephyr which glitches fine, boots into Xell fine (surprising, considering it's a zephyr anyway). When writing the image (used multibuilder v7) from Xell/ USB, I noticed that this came up:

block 0x309 bad
status 0x00000204

I ignored it because Xell supposedly fixes this, but after writing the image I noticed the dashboard is slow and laggy, and also missing certain text. The solder is all fine, avoided coils area like usual, so the suspect is this bad block. Is something wrong with the image, or Xell? Should I remap manually?

I can guarantee the problem is not the wiring, because I dumped the nand after the problem occurred, and now nandpro confirms there is a bad block @309. It seems this block developed just now, because it was not detected when I first dumped the original nand. I should manually remap, correct?

Sorry I can't post pictures of the soldering at the moment, but I'm pretty sure the problem is with the block. The console boots into Xell every time with no problems. Can you please just tell me if it's safe to remap, I haven't done that before, Xell always corrected those errors, but I just don't want to mess anything up, and this case is different, the first dump did not find any bad blocks, so I'm pretty worried. Thank you.

How many dumps did you take originally? Did they match?

Bad blocks don't just appear mid-work, so something else has happened.

When you flash the original NAND back, does it work ok?

NANDPro- it will eliminate any errors you might get with rawflash.

On that vein, you might want to try writing the RGH NAND using nandpro too if you've not already done so.

OK, fixed the problem. Must have been a bug with Xell/rawflash, because when I wrote the hacked nand using the -w command it worked. Still can't explain what happened. Thanks guys.

Just thought I'd add that I too was seeing odd dashboard behavior after flashing with rawflash.

I flashed, then rebooted, then updated using the Microsoft update files, to get Avatars back (this all worked fine). Then I started seeing slow dashboard behavior, and unresponsive Kinect movement.

One other thing i saw was "Fatal Crash Intercepted". I flashed the same file with Flash360 and all is good again.
