When I'm transfering from the Xbox to my PC on the Xbox with X3 mod I'm getting just about 800kbs on transfering and use be about 6MB on my other Xbox with X2.

What might be wrong ? Why I'm getting this low speed?

Xbox V1.4
X3 Build 1957
HD 120GB Western Digital

I have noticed the poor ftp speeds on the x3 too. A friend was over my house once with his xbit installed xbox and we set up with a switch and some cat5-e cable.

My PC to my xbox 6.5mb/s av, max at 8mb/s.
My PC to his xbox 11.2mb/s av, max at 12.1mb/s.
His PC to my xbox 4.5kb/s av, max at 7mb/s.
His PC to his xbox 9.6mb/s av, max at 10mb/s.

Thats the same sort of results any way I set it up (cat5 cat5-e, crossover, hub, switch or what not). Not sure if this is just bad code or someone forgot to add a setting or two. Either way I think a speed update might be nice if it is loose code. :D

I had speeds of about 7 mb/s yesterday, but now it's running at a whopping 50 kb/s. I did switch the xbox-2-xbox setting on, which disabled my ability to connect to the x-box. Since I tried to fix it it just goes really slow now. I gave it its original ip and such and it finally connected, slowly. Boost is on, V1.0, Build 1959, Avalaunch.

I think it may depend on xbox version as I have had issues with only getting about 6MB/s on my 1.0 while a friends gets an easy 9MB/s. It could also be the hard drive trying to keep up with the sustained writes.

i get between 9k and 11k depending on boost on or off

tested all versions from v1.0 - v1.6

i do see a very very small minority complain about slow speeds - i can promise you its nothing to do with the x3 - works a dream for thousands

sorry cant suggest much other than tweaking networking settings

I have the same problem, very slow speed, about 50-150KB/s and sometimed during transfers it jumps up to about 9MB/s but only for a short while (5-15 seconds) and then goes down to speeds of about 50-150KB/s again. this problem is only occuring when transfering from the xbox, not while transfering to it.

I have the same kind of problems with ftp transfers through the Avalaunch dashboard. But I figured this happens only when the CPU temperature is 60 degrees or so.
I reboot, run the fan at 100% for a while and then the speed is good for a while.
Does this make any sense?

my xbox ftp server keeps crashing or something... i get 25kb/s avg normally using the ftp server in x3 1959 but after a few minutes the transfer disappears and the network activity light on the xbox goes off, then i cant reconnect to the xbox server without rebooting it and even then its random as to how long i can stay connected to it if at all :x its getting really annoying seing as im trying to backup 15meg files from it using flashfxp and when it crashes i have to start downloading the file again...

Ok are u guys talkin abt MB/s or Mb/s

MB/s = MegaBYTES per second.
Mb/s = MegaBITS per second

1 Byte = 8 bits. So, 1 MB/s = 8 Mb/s.

Plzzz clarify

They are talking MB/s not meter bits per second. If you get an x3 and use the ftp program then it is very hard for there to be any question in this even though many don't seem to understand or care to use the proper units.

The transfers slow way down when you are moving small files. TAKES FOREVER. Big files go fast.

That would be very understandable however I have now personally seen this problem with video files of 35Mb or more. Very odd as to why it would slow down to 11k/s but it did on my box. I was able to make mine do it by slowing down the fan to 10. I'm not sure if this is the cause nor do I have time to track it down but it produced the same symptoms on my xbox.

Plugged in LiteOn drive upside down

It reads in the xbox but doesnt see the disc in the drive. Is it salvageable or is it toast?

Re: Plugged in LiteOn drive upside down

Might be toast.. what else did you do with the drive other than plug it in wrong? Did you flash it? What FW? What do you mean by "it reads in the xbox"?

What all did you do from the time you opened the case to the time you plugged the drive back in wrong, and what exactly is it doing now?
