I have a 1.0 box with an X3. I am a total newbie but have read everything over and over. Here is where I was hoping to get some help:

The chip is installed and boots in both mode. Flash protection is off with the first two switches on, rest off.

I used the dummy file creator and got my bios from xbins. I converted the bios to 1 meg but can't get the DVD correct. Specifically when I go to Nero's page they have a much newer version than is reflected in the tutorial. I ended up with something that looks native to MACs that was the super wizard from hell. The gui was nothing like the docs.

I tried the "Express" version using Fuji DVD+R with no luck. The flashbios screen just says waiting for disk...Then will eject.

The screenshots of the 5.X version look closer but I could not find a demo that has not expired.

Is there another tool I can use, I am still not clear on the whole iso thing.

Thanks in advance and I am back to read again....

Firstly, there's no need to convert your X3 BIOS to 1MB as it is already this size.

Secondly, turn off the stupid wizard on Nero.

Select DVD(ISO) compilation.

ISO9660 no multisession etc as per tutorial.

BIOS file is called bios.bin
Dummy file is called 1dummy.bin

Burn your Disk.

Thanks MartinC,
I ended up just writing a CD using just XP. I just right clicked and sent the stuff to the drive a voila. I am flashed. I'm now going back to see what is next regarding the dash. Thanks!
