how the HECK AM I SUPPOSE TO UPGRADE MY HARDDRIVE, i am getting a maxtor 200 gb hdd, but i looked at xbox scene, confusing, the forum here said to upgrade the harddrive on x3 was too easy so that didnt help too much, what do i do, make a cd, i still have the evox dash cd ftp it, or just hook it up and transfer all my files to it after formatting it through ftp and disk, i like the latter but seeing as i am a noob, it is probally more complicated:eek:

Somewhere
Make sure all your data is backed up to your computer and disconnect the old drive. Reconnect the new one in it's place. Boot up to X3CL by holding the white button down while booting up your xbox. There are options in it to format it which I assume you can find yourself. Then FTP back into your xbox and copy the backup of the drive on your computer to the new drive. With X3, you don't need to mess with evox at all!

Thats because it is very easy!

Like Earl said... X3CL does it all, the format and ftp... no need to make a CD and use anything else for changing a hard drive. Just have backups and able to network and your all set.

have a look at this thread:

http://teamxecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32493&page=2&pp=10&highlight=
hdd+upgrade

I'll post a quote:

-Boot into X3 Config Live
-Make sure your network settings are correct and you're connected to PC with
a crossover cable or hub/switch
-Open FTP client (FlashFXP, CuteFTP, FileZilla, etc) on your PC
-Connect to your Xbox's IP address (default username/password is x3/x3)
-Create a folder called "backup" (or something along those lines) somewhere
on your PC using the FTP client
-Download all of /C and /E drives to that folder (also back up /F and /G if
you have installed stuff in them you wish to keep)
-Verify your backup (check out the log window and file queues for errors in
FTP client)
-Shut down Xbox and replace old hard drive with new hard drive
-Boot into X3 menu
-Select "Disk Tools"
-Select "New Hard Drive Upgrade"
-Select "Click here to set LBA48 option"
-Select "F drive upto 137gig - G drive gets the rest"
-Select "Prepare and format new drive" (say yes to confirm)
-Go back to previous menu and select "Current hard drive setup"
-Make sure Hard Drive Lock is set to "Enabled". If it is not, enable it.
-FTP your data back to your hard drive (rename drive letter folders first -
see note below)

*Note: Make sure that your drive letters are correct before copying your
data back to your Xbox. I noticed on my X3 Config Live FTP server that when
I downloaded the drive letter "folder" that it named it locally on my PC "C:
(314.66 MBytes free)" or something along those lines. You will need to
rename the folder to just simply "C" before copying. You'll have to do this
with each drive letter "folder" if it appends the space free into the folder
name. Ideally if you use another FTP server (Evo-X, XBMC, etc) to back up
your data, you won't get this extra space free text in the drive letter
folder's name.
