if you are using firefox, there is an extension that reloads a tab however often that you want it to.

replace BENQ drive with HITACHI GDR-3120L

Hi, i need steps or a tutorial on how to make my spare Hitachi drive work with my 360 that had a benq in it. I have both stock firmwares and keys clearly labelled on my desktop, I use jungleflasher V 0.1.75.
The problem was i successfully flashed my benq drive with the same firmware and procedure as my last successful benq flash (which works perfect) and THIS time any game that i put in the benq drive starts up then tells me the disc is unreadable.... and now for some reason my benq drive wont even power on or open tray. So i am left with my spare hitachi drive that works perfect... but needs the BENQ key for this xbox to work. i need someone help please.

Good tutorial in downloads . Very Noob freindly :D

Personally I would buy a Liteon . The 79 wont have much life left in it .

give us a little more information about what is happening

for example, if you are getting the "open tray" issue, it could be an issue with your burning of games, or the hitachi may require the POT tweak

Re: replace BENQ drive with HITACHI GDR-3120L

i just dont think i am doing it right.... the steps i took was first dump both stock firmwares for both drives, get the hitachi into mode b V78 (which the drive is) i installed the jungleflasher firmware ixtreme kit, i loaded the benq OFW into SOURCE, and the hitachi OWF into target, i spoof the benq KEY to the target, then i go back to the hitachi tab, i click "flash iXtreme" like jungleflasher sais to before i do anything else with the drive. it goes through well, then i click "auto spoof" and it goes through successfully.... so i go check my drive now in jungleflasher- the hitachi now shows up as a benq WITH the benq key that matches the mobo.... And my games are burnt successfully, i have another 360 that i use to play backed up games and its a benq and runs perfect.

***when i flashed ixtreme, i selected my drives proper file which was ix151-78-4e10.bin that matched my hitachis OFW.

Re: replace BENQ drive with HITACHI GDR-3120L

With hitachi ,you dont use firmware32 like mtk based drives,
you dont use source and target, and you dont choose what firmware to flash, jungleflasher chooses, the jungleflasher hitachi firmware needs to be the firmware folder.
the only time you go into the firmware32 tab is to use autospoof ,and even then only a source firmware is loaded, there is no target loaded.
go to hitachi tab,
modeb the drive,it will be showing as benq atm
restore the drive
flashix and jf will put ix on the drive
go to firmware32 load the benq ofw in source area, nothing
in the target.
back to hitachi tab
now click autospoof.
Please note hitachis are notoriously poor at reading burnt
discs, please clean disc, disc unreadable, open tray may require pot tweak.

luckily, the last couple revisions of JF have fixed the potential of people trying to flash from mtk32 tab...its no longer possible

so now when people make the mistake of trying to manually select their firmware, jungleflasher ignores them and selects the firmware by itself

what you should do is flash ixtreme 1.51 to the hitachi, load up the benq firmware in the source section of firmware 32 tab, then press autospoof in the hitachi side

easy as pie

my guess is that you need a POT tweak, as i said before

kk i folowed all directions noted, when i flashix, JF automatically loads ix151-78-4e10.bin into the TARGET of that firmwaretool 32 tab, and theres nothing in the source except some incorrect dvd key

Re: replace BENQ drive with HITACHI GDR-3120L

did you read what i posted?

it doesn't matter what the key is, you flash ixtreme first, THEN SPOOF YOUR KEYS AND DRIVE

if you have the drive flashed, just load up the benq firmware into the source, then press autospoof in the hitachi tab

yea i read it, and i did exactly that after the previous attempt failed, i just hvant posted it yet so here it is... i did EXACTLY that, i know the BENQ KEY that matches the MOBO-and its in SOURCE and i have the automated ix firmware for the hitachi in target, i went back to the hitachi tab and clicked autospoof. went well.... BUT when i went to test the console, everything still sais, this is an xbox 360 game please put it into an xbox 360 console. I dont know what is going on here i know i have the correct key off the benq drive i am swapping for a hitachi and by these directions i did follow them best i could.
