did my liteon back in 09 with ixtreme 1.6 and looking to get back into it but im effing lost!
can i still use the 360 xtractor with the spear i bought way back when ? also i see a lot of talk about what dash your on and going back to stock. For me thats complicated i was on ixtreme 1.6 but recently connected to live and they wiped out my flash and updated my dash. So am i stock now, with the newest dash ? Hoping someone is kind enough to help me im feeling pretty stupid right now.:duh::duh: what im trying to accomplish is updating to the new lt 3.0 thanks

It would be nice if it was in order, i remember back in 09 there was an awesome tut that was step by step and didnt jump all over the place. Im plenty capable of doing it thanks ive done it before i just dont know what changed and what different precautions i need to take before doing it. Nice to see you guys are eager to help, thanks !

ok i have one question that is not answered in the tut Will the original version 1 360 xtractor by maximus with spear attachment work with the newer flashes ??

Yes that question is answered in the tutorial. And the answer is no. The spear no longer works. You need a probe 3 or pmt.

crap whats the last firmware that is compatible with the xtractor ? is the reason its incompatible with the current firmware hacks because my spear used the pin point up above the chip on the top left and the new ones use the MPX01 pin point ? Just trying to make sense of why. thanks

Just did some digging this thread hxxp://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=731489 says that all you need to do is add a switch to the 3.3v to use the v1 spear for the pmt method and you wondering why im confused lol

If I.m right If you still have a copy of your DVD key on your
Pc you should be okay other wise you do need the probe. If you
Don.t have a back up of the key why not

i believe i do have a copy of the key BUT it was pulled from the drive using the old methods and r707 pinout not the MPX01 pinout. I still dont understand how the change came about from r707 to MPX01 (pmt) and why the the old way wont work but im assuming its because xbox put a firmware in the drives to stop us getting keys from the r707 ?

Anyways if i find the 4 files or what ever it is key inquiry dummie etc... How do i confirm that they are good and not a bad set of 00000000000 i may have pulled ? Thanks

Unfortunately that's the chance you take if you have only flashed one drive then its yours
If you have flashed more than one drive then it could be anyones.
When you do re flash rename the file to your xbox!

The pmt probe is a piece of cake as braveheart and Joe said jungle

Dude if you wud jst listen and read the tutorial u wud understand it ok it deosnt take a rocket science to read it. the reason y is cuz microsoft had recently made a new stock fw for Lite-On drives i guess to make it harder for us to dump the fw. but if u really wanna play wit back-up u will deal wit just like us nd read the tutorial

i think if you saved the dummy file and other files from your first flash with the dvd key a while ago during 1.6, then you don't need the spear or anything. just put the source as that saved dummy.bin file and the target as the new firmware and hit the copy dvd key from source to new firmware or spoof of something like that and just flash. If you don't still have the dummy.bin file saved somewhere with your key, then i am not sure how you will get it.
