I've modded a box of a friend and he liked it...he has another xbox which is softmodded and he wants a X2 modchip on it...before i do it I just want to make sure if it's okay to mod it with X2.6 ce or should I remove the softmod first? If I have to disable the softmod first, then what's the proper procedure in doing so? Thanks!

I just got my CE today, soldered it in (first time ever soldering) and it seems to work... I just gotta get my Standard AV pack back from my friend so I can actually use the damned thing.
But my point is, I came from using SID4.0 (I'm an Admin on Xbox-HQ) and the chip works fine (other than the point that the damned thing has no real picture other than a f00ked up scramble). But the softmod runs just fine (so far) with the chip sitting on top. Once I get my Standard AV pack back tonight and plug it in, I'll post back here and let ya know how it goes.

Well, unfortunately, I had to remove SID4. I'm guessing the virtual eeprom is messin it up? Oh well... I'm gonna try and go back to SID 3.11, see if that works, but if it doesn't and you softmodded correctly, just re-load your softmod exploit (either go to the savegame exploit folder and run Default.xbe under 000000000 or run it from the game) and choose "Uninstall Softmod".
I have no choice but to resoftmod... I somehow managed to frag bank 2 and lost my flasher, so I gotta wait until my programmer gets here... damnit. Have no idea how that happened... I did everything right, close the box up and the f00ker won't boot the chip, only boots with the chip off.

I haven't tried the softmod exploit before so I have no idea how it works...so, if my modchip installation is all correct I won't problems even if the xbox is softmodded or do I need to undo the softmod first before putting the chip?

The easiest way to do it would be to download AID (www.aideluxe.com) pop it in, launch it and use the "File manager" to wipe the C drive. Then go to "Install Dashboards" ----> "Install MS Dashboard 5960" then you'll pop the disc out and have a stock Xbox. Simple as that.
Also, your E, F, and G drives will go untouched, so once the chip gets running and you've installed your dashboard of choice (using AID again
) go ahead and use your old apps.
