But you probbely can't update Zelda without updating your console firmware

If you can still "start software" I would not update anything yet. As Hacker said, after the update it may require 7.0. There have been game updates coming out recently that are being signed with the new master_key. Hold off if possible.

I’m just trying to figure out why a game that is that old that hasn’t been online needs an update. I’m on 6.2

Speculating 100% here, but I do know that in their financial review last year they had mentioned paying more attention to titles like Mario and BOTW/Zelda. So maybe they are getting ready to announce new content for BOTW or it could have just meant they were talking about Link's Awakening that they just announced. I can't find the article now though.

So like it being a newer manufactured game might ask for the updates to keep people from pirating
