Hi,

So I was soldering the points with the Xecuter QSB Install Kit and JTAG HACK, but I am getting "Could Not Detect a Flash Controller".

99% it is bad soldering so here are the questions.

Most motherboards have the pin header holes filled with solder, but mine does not, I must fill the holes with solder before attached the QBS and solder their points?

Thanks.

No you don't, you put the pin headers through and then solder them from the opposite side of the motherboard. Alternatively you can cut the wires and solder directly to the board.

Depends on your soldering skills. In my opinion the QSB's and direct wires are much easier than the pin headers and a safer option two and in my case I can solder both.

i prefer direct wire, takes about 15 seconds to be dumping the nand instead of cleaning out pin headers.
But when I see pictures of the wire method, I see the holes filled with solder. That is why I was asking, maybe I am having a problem with bad connection due to the holes had no solder. I will post pictures later.

So I was able to do a fine job and jtag is working, flashed nand with 0 bad blocks.
When I disable jtag (QSB switch) I get E79. Is that because I do not have original nand flashed?

Thanks.

do not disable it i made that misstake with a jtag read nand flashed nand removed jtag and E79

you dump nand save it this is you are doing same as me getting cpu key

dump nand twice then compare (both match)

then write xell

disconnect from pc

power it up on tv as if you were playing it lol

read fuse sets lines 5-6 if i remember rightly

then in nand reader/write program jtag tool BY coolshrimp i have it if you need it i is what i use

enter cpu key where it says this is FUSE SETS LINES then create fb save file

click on little spanner icon next to console type

click-on kv-info NOW where it says nand at the end of that is box with dots in click it goto where you saved your fb nand and open

next THE FUSE SET type lines 5-6 cpu key

click get info

and hay presto all info and DVD DRIVE KEY

i hope this helps

When you switch the JTAG QSB switch to "Off" it throws E79 because your NAND has been modified to run the exploited dashboard and is looking for signals via the diodes. When it is in the "Off" position these circuits are disconnected so the dashboard cannot launch much like you can't connect to the internet if your modem is unplugged. Its there if you wish to flash back to your original NAND - not sure why anyone would want to but you get the idea. Just leave it on the setting that allows your dash to boot.
