Cost is largely irrelevent IMHO, since you lack the skills to be able to do it yourself.

Therefore provided the cost is less than you buying a replacement motherboard and getting someone else to mod it for you, you're quids in.

You could own the best soldering equipment in the world and still not be able to solder.

You need to have the skills as well as the proper equipment.
I love seeing people put this to the test because they believe an expensive soldering iron is going to give them shiny solder and make it easy to make good connections. Lather it up with their flux and use 60/40 at 800F.

I've seen the consequences first hand.

Practice makes perfect.

I just don't understand why people don't follow the suggestions of most professionals on this forum or don't read the card with the Demon.

Oh come on now. What you are saying is, if I buy a $2,000 guitar and the best pick money could buy, I won't be a great guitar player. That just doesn't make sense to me......

Actually , what your saying could possibly, in a perfect world, if you're lucky, maybe just possibly, you COULD become a great guitar player...

After a few years.

Like I said, If you're lucky!

Or, You get the Pick of Destiny!!!!!!!!
