A lot of members on this forum seem to like AMTECH flux for soldering to the xbox. I'm looking at picking some up for myself but am a bit puzzled by the different product numbers and prizes.
Are any of these recommended?:
1. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amtech-NC...109817?hash=item35b57c9e79:g:b3oAAOSwa-dWjtP7
2.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Amtech-Ad...hash=item3d001ffd95:m:m62Idap4nIeEXNDVxjN683A

The prize difference between the first and second link is massive, they are both 10cc.

I use a HAKKO FX-901 cordless iron
I use Kaina 63/37 0.8mm 2% rosin core flux solder tin

Maybe this is also a good time to ask whether my solder tin is any good

Thank you

I've used cheap flux and expensive branded flux.
I don't notice any difference if I'm honest.
I admit some flux is dog turd and is hard to clean off.
But the cheap sh*t I use, works just aswell as the expensive stuff and I've been using it for years with no issues at all.

High quality flux is only required when reballing. I did buy a large amount of amtech a while ago so I been using it but any standard flux will work. You have to be careful when buying amtech as there is 100 different knockoffs. I will admit though that amtech is the best I've ever used. Especially for trace repair
