Hi,
I will be attempting to Jtag my xbox in a couple of hours, When the mrs gets back from maplins with diodes lol, (Ordered some of ebay that came today but not long enough :(, while checking the length i noticed the bits on MB where jtag connections go already have solder in them, is this normal? And also what would be best wire to use for jumper.
Go Easy on Me lol

Why did you say diodes weren't long enough??

They are not meant to be a metre long!
Just extend them and off you go.
The jtag points do have solder in them 50% of the time it's normal so dont worry ;)

I use a cable similar to Network cable or telephone cable single core.

Not sure what you mean by diodes being "not long enough" as they are always a standard size unless someone went and cut them down....which makes no sense at all!

Yes, it is completely normal for the jtag areas to have solder in them

the wire I always used until I ordered kynar wire was to cut up an old cat5 cable (ethernet cable) and use the wires inside.

*edit* looks like teajunkie beat me too it! lol

Ok i dont want to come across like a pr**k but you do know this is an xecuter support forum right???

I am happy to assist you in any xecuter related issue you may have but if you are following someone elses guide then ask them ;)

But in short yes ethernet cable and direct solder.

No more unrelated posts we do have our own guides here too.
