Hmm.... I would really like to use the original point because I don't really want to take off the clamps on the board so I'll try to resolder it when I get home
yea just try the original point again, and if it doesnt work, u can try the alternate one.

why would you need to take the clamps off? Not sure if I miss something.. I did the point with the clamps still installed.

the alternate point is under the heat sink, so u need to take off the clamps to remove the heatsink. Maybe its placed differently in different boards

ok i have freeboot installed. i got my cpu key and everything but what would happen now if a removed the coolrunner with freeboot installed?

then the console won't boot, the cr is what make the glitch for your console to boot freeboot

okay thanks this means i have everything good now so i'm going to go slather hot glue on all the connections now

I'm glad you got sorted, but can you now understand why people trying to support here get frustrated. At no point did you mention 'oh I f**ked up CPU_PLL_BYPASS' in any of your posts.

If you screw up a via or a pad, you need to repair the trace before carrying on. It's common sense really.
