Anyone know what a solid orange eject LED means? Backstory: installed Xecuter2.6CE using an Xadapt3r, and booted into flashBIOS fine. Didn't really know what I was doing (cocky after my last mod worked great) so I flashed it with the wrong bios, and now bank 1 frags. Okay, my fault, fine, I screwed up, but I should be able to get a second chance with bank 2, right? I flip the bank switch to 2 and turn it on, it doesn't frag, but there's no video. I wait ~30 seconds, and the eject LED turns orange and stays orange. Is this something I can work with or should I just go buy a programmer now?

If it matters, the box is v1.6 (not 1.6b), and I'm 90% sure my bank 1 was flashed with FlaskBIOS v3.00.

IIRC X2 chips currently ship with FlashBIOS 3.0.1 on bank 1 and 3.0.3 on bank 2. From the FlashBIOS guide off of the Team Xecuter home page-
FlashBIOS v3.03 may not work on v1.6 in some cases (works great on v1.6b) - at time of press this is being investigated and we recommend you use v3.01 for v1.6
So long as the file you flashed was 512KB or less (FlashBIOS always starts writing at the beginning of the chip, regardless of what bank was booted/selected) bank 2 should still be intact, but unfortunately it will hold the 3.0.3 BIOS which will have problems with your board. Options are-
  1. Keep trying to boot the 3.0.3 FlashBIOS. There are many that have reported that they were able to get it to boot after a number of tries. Note that this number may be 50 or more tries. Your mileage may vary, but if you've got time to spare...
  2. Get the programmer. Not a bad thing to have around and you can get them cheap enough. Themodchip.com currently has them for $8.50USD, shipping starts around $6.50 cross country. You'll feel more confident if you are ever flashing your mod again, and you could be the envy of your modded friends if you get them out of a bind some day.
  3. Hotswap with another working mod and then flash the chip. There should be tutorials around on how to do this. I would pick up the programmer before I would try this.
Good luck, hopefully you can get the box to boot 3.0.3 in a few tries.

BTW, when you say that your bank 1 was flashed with FlashBIOS 3.0.0 you are referring to the BIOS that you booted and flashed from, correct? Not what you were flashing to the chip?

Once you get the box up and running I would recommend you install the app FlashX and flash FlashBIOS 3.0.1 to bank 2. (banks 3 and 4 in FlashX) This way should you ever goof the first half of the chip you will have a compatible FlashBIOS that you can use to reflash. Of course if you pick up the programmer this isn't really necessary.

Thanks a lot! I ended up just buying the programmer, and everything works great.
