Hi everyone, I finally got my VIA VT6421L SATA Controller Card and I've been trying to flash the XBOX 360 for the past 2 hours and no luck!

ok here is my situation!
I have a VIA VT6421L Sata PCI Card, I installed the drivers and the computer recognizes it and it all looks good! I also bought an Xecuter XBOX 360 Blaster and it was all installed and good to go.

I “iPrep” my USB flash drive with the “iXtreme v1.2c – Fast “ firmware

I make sure to check “Force Device List”, “Custom Serial ATA”, Select my VIA VT6421L PCI card, and make sure the Dev ID: & Dev IO: boxes are filled out.

I choose the Target Drive and make sure to point it to the USB Flash Driver, check the “Format/Make Device Bootable” box and Press “Do It”

I get the message window saying that every was successfully completed.
---------------------------------------------------------
I make sure my SATA cable is connected from my PC to the XBOX, I make sure my power and a/v cable is connected.

I restart my PC, I go into the bios
Make the USB Flash Drive as my primary boot device, I make sure to unplug the HDD and CD-Roms

I boot from the USB Flash Drive and I get: A:\> (In the guides I have seen it shows that when the PC boots it will shows as C:\> so I don't know why my shows as A:\> )

I turn the XBOX on, and type iDump (My serial number) Example: 1234567 12345 and hit enter.

It shows me the drives, I turn off the XBOX, I select the drive “Xtreme” Wait 10 secs and turn on the XBOX.

I think when I turn the XBOX now it should dump my original firmware but instead nothing happens.

I turn off the XBOX , count to 10 and turn it on again – nothing happens!!!

If anyone can please help me out I really appreciate it!
Thanks a million in advance!

Re: Need Help With MS28!!! PLEASE!!!!!

the only thing i see is dont have your sata cable hooked up to the 360 drive till AFTER the computer is booted on the flash.then plug in the sata to the 360 drive and power it up.do idump ser#.
it should say "xtreme pri master" only that drive all others are undone.
then yes turn the power off,hit the number wait 10 sec then turn the power back on.
it should do the dump.dont reboot the computer when it says to.WAIT till samtool runs and it builds your hacked firmware.

SAVE your orig firmware every where(or else)

some people say less than 10 sec others say more.for me it 10 on the nose.ive flashed many v28 all were 10 on the nose.

Re: Need Help With MS28!!! PLEASE!!!!!

Cofree thanks for the reply!
Ok so don't plug the SATA cable to the XBOX until my PC has booted into DOS, correct?

the fact that when I boot into DOS is comes up A:\> instead of C:\> does that make any difference?

When it saves the original firmware, where it is gonna save it to? the Flash Drive?

Cofree thanks again for the help, it's much appreciated!

Re: Need Help With MS28!!! PLEASE!!!!!

thats right when the computer is up and running in dos off the flash then plug your sata cable to the 360 drive.
im not sure about that mine says c:
if it boot up in dos and then see your drive i dont see where it would matter.
it will save your orig firmware on the flash and it will build a hacked firmware on the flash.you must keep the orig firmware for all time.keep it safe in more than one place

Re: Need Help With MS28!!! PLEASE!!!!!

Cofree….
Ok I been trying and I still can’t get it going.

I was going through TextBook Noob Guide and in the MS28 section where it explains how to read the original firmware is says: Turn on ur PC and the 360 at the same time and boot ur PC from the bootable media into DOS.

How do I boot into DOS from my bootable media if I’m trying to use the NTFS-DOS iPrep version?

I don’t really want to try the floppy version and the USB Flash drive is not getting me anywhere.

When I do the NTFS-DOS CD version, I do the iPrep but instead of saving the files on the USB Flash drive, I save it to my C:\> and then I try to boot my PC from my CD “NTFS-DOS CD” and when boot it goes into NTFS DOS not into iPrep where I can do the iDump & iFlash commands.

Like always, thanks in advance for the help! :? 8)

Re: Need Help With MS28!!! PLEASE!!!!!

I've got an almost similar problem. I run iDump and it gets to 100% of backing up then it moves onto "Writing drive key to key9-18.txt" and then it freezes. I have no clue why. I've tried it twice now and it keeps freezing at that exact same spot.

Any suggestions?

Re: Need Help With MS28!!! PLEASE!!!!!

Cofree---- It ALL WORKED!!!!! WOOOOHHHAAA!!!!
I took the Blaster 360 off, Open the XBOX, grounded it and follow the same instruction and it all worked.
I backup my original firmware and flash it with the iXtreme RevC -Fast Read.
I make a backup of my "Original" bioshock, tested it and it all works perfect!!!!

Cofree thanks for willing to help this noob!!!!:)
