Some EvoX questions...

Ok, first things first, I downloaded the latest version of EvoX and followed the tutorial on how to get it on my Xbox, but when it came down to burning it, my burner (or maybe it was Nero) didnt like the CD-RW I was using. I've burned CD-RWs before, but for some reason, all these new "high-speed" and "ultra-speed" CD-RWs just wont work. So, Im going to get my friends disk that has an older version of EvoX on it and then just use that. Now, my question is, if I put that older version on my Xbox, can I FTP my newer version onto my Xbox using the older EvoXs FTP capabilities and then run my new version?

Second, once I have a dash, can I FTP my songs to my Xbox in the format they are (mp3), or do I have to convert them so that they work with the Xbox File System?

I will probably not check this thread until sometime tomorrow, so thanks for any help in advance.

Yep, you could do that but since you have X3 Config Live, just use the FTP capability in that instead. Easier IMO. I believe you can just plant your Mp3's on the xbox too...

Well, I didnt plan on a reply this soon, but Im glad I checked because I have been wondering about the X3 Config Live and its FTP. Ok, now that I have someone who knows about it, how could I FTP my version of EvoX to my Xbox using X3CL because I have tried connecting using FlashFXP and Quix, but neither of them really got me any where (The most I could get out of it was the X3CL web flash tool). Do you know of any tutorials that can show me how to FTP to my Xbox using X3CL?

as long as you have your X3 set to the correct IP address (Static/DHCP) and you know what it is you should be able to connect using FTP. Password and username are 'X3', you can change them. What version is your X3 flashed with?

Well, I am using v3108 and this is my setup:
Modem -> LinkSys Wireless Router

From Router, Connections go to:
-From Ethernet Port (EP) 1 to Computer
-From EP 2 to Xbox
-Wireless to another computer in another room

This is how I unsuccessfully tried to FTP to my Xbox:

Now, because of the area Im in, my router's IP has to be 192.168.2.1 instead of 192.168.1.1. So everything connected to it has an IP of 192.168.2.xxx where xxx is 101 for my computer, 104 is my Xbox, and 105 is the other computer.

So, in my BIOS, this is how my network is setup:
DHCP: Enabled
Set Static IP: 192.168.2.104
Set Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Set Gateway IP: 192.168.2.1 (by gateway it means "router" right?)
Set DNS 1: 0.0.0.0
Set DNS 2: 0.0.0.0
FTP Login: x3
FTP Password: x3

So with it setup like that, I first used Quix and set up a network. These where the values I used:
Description: X3 Connection
Xbox IP: 192.168.2.104
Port: 21
Login: x3
password: x3
Passive FTP disabled
Folders:
-Admin (Default)
-C
-D
-E

Ok, now, before today, I used this exact setup and got nothing. Quix acted like it was connected, but I couldnt browse, upload or anything. I jus tried it again, and now all of a sudden I can browse my harddrive. Ok, for now Im going to try to follow an EvoX tutorial to see if I can upload this on my own. If I have any problems, I will reply back. Thanks guys.

Ok, I have EvoX on my box and it is working. Thanks. Oh, and I found the answer to my own question about music after looking around on my Xboxs harddrive. When a song is ripped onto the hard drive, it is saved in WMA format. Thanks guys.
