Some games won't boot from evox anymore

I have a v1.0 with xecuter 3. Was just playing one of my backups and decided to switch to another game after this one got boring. When I stuck it in, it wouldn't launch (I've played this game tons, so I know the DVD was in good working order). I stuck in another DVD and it wouldn't work either. I then tried a third DVD and that one consistently boots. Not sure why some will and some won't boot. All of these DVDs were working.

As a side note, the Xbox has not undergone anything traumatic (i.e. shaking/rattling/any kind of movement in general other than swapping disk).

Ideas anyone?

Thanks a bunch

Adding a Drive to an older console

I got my hands on a console which came with no dvd drive. A friend of mine was able to jtag the xbox and get me a key which I need to add to a dvd drive so I can toss that drive into this jtagged console. Now I was given a CPU key and I have injected that into the ixtreme firmware and put it onto the drive however when I put in a burnt disc it still says "Play DVD" am I injecting that key in the wrong place I am using jungleflasher to inject this key that was given to me.

The drive is a BENQ.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Adding a Drive to an older console

You need to inject the DVD key into the drive firmware, not the CPU key. Also, you need to spoof the drive so it appears as the original drive that came with the console (i.e. if there was a Samsung drive in the console, you need to spoof your BenQ drive as a Samsung drive). But, with a JTAGed console you don't even need a DVD drive - you can play stright from the HDD :D

Re: Adding a Drive to an older console

Got the key by ejecting the tray with the eject button.

However the old dvd drive in this console was a samsung so how do I spoof the BENQ drive I am going to put in there do I just write Samsung firmware to the BENQ?

No. You will still use the BenQ firmware. There is a whole section in the Jungleflasher tutorial that goes over Spoofing drives.
