Ok so this is an on going thread. I don't want to give up yet on my console. So guess what. i get red ring now while the xbox even starts to glitch. even when booting directly to the microsoft original dashboard i get red ring. then after a few tries of switching on and off i will eventually get it to boot and play a game. then after a few minutes it shuts off again with red ring. i opened it open and dont see any loose wires or solder on the cool runner chip
btw power supply light is still orange and i get no errors on the screen just black screen. could this be my GPU that is failing??

what is the secondary error code? This as asked already and no answer. google will tell you how to find the secondary code if you don't know how.
I will do this tonight when i get a chance. i think you posted a link. something got to do with button on remote sync button and checking lights?
yes follow the link that i posted a while back after suggesting you check the secondary error code. as a matter of fact THIS is it. when it rrod's, then check the code. and its the controller sync and eject button's on the front of the console. hold sync and press eject 4 times to get all digits of the error code. make sure to follow the guide and do it 3 or 4 times to make sure you got the same error code each time.
yes its called red dot of death instead of red ring of death but the outer (controller) quadrants will flash 1 for 1, 2 for 2, 3 for 3, and all 4 flashing is a 0 in the error code. so for example you hold sync and press the eject button and all 4 quadrants light up red. then the first number of the code is 0. keep holding sync and press eject again and only 3 quadrants light up. that makes the second number 3. now press eject again and 1 quadrant lights up. then press eject the 4th time and 2 quadrants light up. so this means your error code is 0312. that may or may not be a code but it is just an example. when you press eject for the 5th time it will go back to just the red dot in the middle. then you can check the code again to make sure you got it right. let us know the error code once you get it so hopefully we can narrow down the problem.
