JTAG Some questions....

Hey guys in need of some help, I'm somewhat new to the Jtag scene, while I've had my Jtag for several months now with no problems, the other day I upgraded to a new 750gb HDD & started from scratch, updated to dashlaunch 2.26, installed everything else neccessary.

Now my question...

I noticed Dashlaunch 2.27 is out & on reading all the jargon I don't understand whether it's neccessary to update or if it's just an RGH thing? Also whether Freeboot needs updating now or ever? (I don't even know what it does to be honest) Currently I'm on dash 13604.

Ok now my problems with FSD, rather than explaining all this, I'll just show you...

As you can see I'm getting double writing on the game title, does anyone know how to fix this?

Also I cant get the covers to show, I've tried individually refreshing artwork & registering on the cover site in the settings and neither works.

Any help with these problems/queries would be appreciated thanks!

The double image is because of the skin you are using. Revert to stock FSD dashboard and it will go away. What version FSD are you on?

For the downloads, check your ini file and set livestrong to false that allows access to the net for cover downloads.

Thanks alot, that solves the cover issue.

When I FTP'd a few skins over for some stupid reason, (probably because the default skin looks crap) I deleted it. I thought it was no longer neccessary, Will I have to re-install FSD?

Dash Version: 2.2 Rev701.

Try going into settings and updating freestyle dash. Maybe it will let you update the dash to stock. If not you can try downloading FSD to your PC and transfer the default skin file into your skins folder on the xbox. It should then show in FSD again.

Failing all that you may have to reinstall.

Don't think there are many skins made that worl flawlessly with FSD 2.2. Give them time to port them over for 2.2 then we can reskin the dash with fewer problems

Thanks again, I'll look into that one, So can you or anyone answer my other question about Dashlaunch & Freeboot, then I'm set! :D

EDIT: It's the latest FSD, in fact I updated it via FSD itself only yesterday. will try the pc route.

Sorry been busy with the festive season.

Dashlaunch needs updating as you update your dashboard versions. My jtag stays on older dashes quite often without the need to update that often. Freeboot will be updated with each update of dashboard. So when you update to the latest dash (obviously don't update with microsoft officila updates, follow jtag methods to update) freeboot will be updated within the image that you build to write to your nand. Not very difficult these days thanks to Rogero's awsome multibuilder app which will now build your image with the new dashlaunch built in.

Just use that when you update and you don't even have to worry about your questions anymore. Make sure FSD is in the path that is listed in the app as you build your image and everything else is done for you.

No problem mate... ah right I did do this before using coolshrimp's jtags tool but I assumed it wasn't ready to be done for the latest dash yet as Jtag tool hasn't prompted me to update, so still has 13604 as the latest.
