Somebody Help Me Flash Please!!!

Okay, here is the deal. I installed my X3 w/ the solderless adapter and it boots up into that blue screen and says FlashBIOS 3.0.1 at the top. Below that it says enable network flashing, and all the other menus. Yesterday, I turned the Flash Protect all off and went to a bank with the switches, 1 to 4, in this order: off, on, on, on. Then I got a dummy file and BIOS and put them on my CD-RW using Nero. I chose flash from disk, the dvd drive ejected, I put in the CD-RW, closed it, it said flashing or something like that in bug letters and below there was a bar that filled up yellow then green. After it finished, it automatically shut down like it should, then when I rebooted, it pulled back up to that blue menu! Is that normal? If so, where do I go from here?
PS I have a 1.0 motherboard and was wondering what would be the best dashboard for me... Thank you!

Also, I didn't understand this so I installed this BIOS to a lot of switches and was wondering if I can reset my mod chip and start all over? I read a forum saying you boot a "config live" menu and press A, then up twice and A, finally left once then A. The problem is however, what the heck is the "config live" menu?!!

Ok, first of all, everything works just FINE.

BUT ... you have (I believe) downloaded the FLASH bios and NOT the 3029 BIOS file from Xbins .... thus when you 'flashed' it to the chip, it went back to the FLASH BIOS.

Get the 3029.RAR file from Xbins, extract the 3029.bin file and write THIS to the CD in exactly the same way as before.

Then, put the switches in the on,on,off,off,off position (Bank 1 of the 1mb) and flash to that.

I downloaded the 3029.RAR file from xbins, now do I leave it as a .RAR file or go to properties and change it to a .bin file?

Also, what is Config Live and how can I get to it to reflash my mod chip so that it is back to factory settings?!

You extract the .RAR file using WinRar. You can't get to config Live until you flash 3029 to your chip.

Isn't there a tutorial on all this?

I got WinRAR, the 3029.RAR BIOS from xbins, and everything else I need, so what do I do to extract the RAR files? Sorry for the iconvenience (if that is how it is spelled), if you know where to find the tutorial, let me know please,

x3 wont flash

i am haveing a problem with flashing. i am trying to flash the x3 with the new 3029 bios. when i try flashing is says it is flashing but the bar never comes up. and it just sits there like that. what do i do.
