well when i went to play and load a game from the hard drive it boot up in excuter2 then onto my blade screen saver but there was only 5 options.
option1 boot up to ms dashboard
option2 reboot
option3 power off
option4 settings
option5 back up

and was it nothing else i went to settings and the hard disk is locked i tryed most things in the settings and nothing had a look at back up but dont have a back up disk.
its says bois version unkown in settings and kernel version 1.00.4979.67 if that helps.
im a complete noob and the person who modded it for me has moved away please please help if ya can thanks.

wll it sounds like you are running the EVOX dashboard?

so are you saying that you used to have an item called "Launch Menu" and under that would be all your games and applications?

ok i think your kids got in to the save games option on xbox and deleted some thing used by evox dash
to fix may have to do a rebuild of harddrive you will need a dvd called auto installer deluxs 3 it wil rebuild hard drive with the new dash as well as ms dash
as well you can install what apps you need like dvd2xbox whitch put games on hard drive
downside is you will have to backup your games that are on hard drive to your pc then put them back after rebuild
