I need someone to prepare my board, so i can solder on the Lt switch myself.

I need someone good who has rep on here to cut the traces and prepare the pads properly. I'm thinking maybe 15 or 20 bucks should cover that? I messed one board up and have a brand new untouched one right now....

Thanks.

You may have severed one of the thin cables soldered unto the logic board, it happened on mine. The thin red one, and my drive wouldn't eject. So i soldered it back on and it worked again. Make sure the cables haven't been unattached.

To clean up. That's not what i need though, i can't cut the area around the pads with my Xacto knives so the solder can make contact.

no no no. Thats EXACTLY what the Fiber glass pen is for !

The xacto knife is for cutting the traces
It would REALLY help you if you actually read what certain tools were actually for - the fiber glass pen is even in the LT Switch tutorial !

Ok, i'm gonna buy it. How would the pen work exactly? It says use a fibreglass pen but it says nothing on how to use it or show how to Do it...

all you do is rub the points with it and it cleans them up ready to be soldered. its got stiff fibreglass bristles that actually scratch away the crap from the points that you are going to be soldering to. therefore it makes it easier to solder to the point once it has been cleaned.

Do you understand now?
