Hey I was trying to flash my bios to upgrade to the latest bios and it said it installed correctly and restarted but now it does the 3 boots before it loads and then nothing (black screen) all the switches are turned to off.. I was playing around with them and if I turn bank 2 off it loads back into the screen to reload the bios.. I try to install the bios from disk and it just gives me errors.. Any idea on what I can do to fix it ??

I just realized that the bios had two versions and I have the 1.6 board.. but how can I get back to flash the bios, it will not even let me in.. it frags with the 3 x reboot and then goes black.. ??
I just flipped the bank 2 to off so it would load and then just updated the bios from the network... quick fix.... but it worked...Thanks

Disc unreadable!
I have just purchased a new pack of 10 Verbatim 43666 discs, I have sucessfully burned a disc with IMGBurn on 2.4x , layerbreak set as usual ( As I always have done!!) but it comes up 'disc unreadable'
I tried CloneCD also, and it still didn't work! Its my 3rd pack of discs I have used, I've always stuck with the same Verbs', no settings have changes, firmware, hardware etc, all the same! This disc is a wave 6 game, which do work on my drive after using an 'Activate' disc.
I've never had coasters before, my drive on the Xbox is otherwise working fine, I carried out a pot tweak anyway, which didn't help, so I adjusted back to the origional setting!
The only thing I can think is I have noticed my latest Verbs are made in India whereas the previous pack was Singapore! I have read there is some reliability issues with the Indian ones, but really this bad? 3 attempts so far seems a bit steep!! Anyone else seen this, or have suggestions??

Just tried to verify disc image against image on computer with IMGBurn and it comes up with errors once it reaches 50% or the layer break line!! Still stuck!!

Update!
Got 4 coasters now! Used Kreon drive and XBC to burn disc at it's slowest speed (4X) . Put through ABGX test, fails at 50% again, and still shows 'disc unreadable'
Does anyone know how you can test a DVD writer is correctly burning both layers? I've run a cleaner through it already!
Hope someone can help!!

Another update!!
Just gone from 1.6 to LT firmware--- guess what?! Still no play!! Flash was successful, now plays other discs without using 'Activate' disc!
So DVD writer or faulty (complete?!) pack of Verbatims!
Anyone got any ideas??!!

When flashing did you make sure that the hacked firmware had the same dvdkey as the original firmware. If you did not, it will not work.

Im leaning to the verbs and or maybe the DVD writer . Try burning to different disk .

Finally sussed it!
Turned out it was my drive! It would burn cd's ok, and even burned 1x backup of one of my originals, but I wonder wether any game data was on the 2nd layer of the disc because it played fine! It seemed that, all along, the 2nd layer was not burning correctly!
