Looking at the install guide it says to have glitch sound wire to rol pad on cr3 does that mean on the original CR u can't have a glitch sound?

No you can use any see below fot normal coolrunner.

It goes to the coolrunner via a switching diode, see the green point on the pics. Diode is 1N4148 or eqiv.
